Dr Marie-Claude Leblanc obtained her medical degree from Université Laval in 2009. She subsequently completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery from 2009 to 2014. Dr Leblanc has completed a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at McMaster University and worked under the supervision of Dr Olufemi Ayeni, with a focus on developing skills in hip arthroscopy surgery. Given her wide interest in sports pathology, she has also worked closely with Dr Devin Peterson and Dr Rick Ogilvie, experts in knee arthroscopy. Finally, her work with Dr Matt Denkers has allowed her to complete her set of skills in knee and shoulder arthroscopy.
In parallel with her studies, Dr Leblanc served as a reserve Medical Technician in the Canadian Forces. She also enjoys various sports and physical activities, including weight lifting, cycling, cross-country skiing and rock climbing.
